Tamara's Scribe Post 4th Quarter

Hi everyone! I am going to talk about ''The Evil Elves'' group, during our Tuesday's science class. I hope you enjoy reading my blog.

We (The Evil Elves) did not do many things our Tuesday's Class. What we did at the start of the class, was people working on the details of the compound machine. So, for example, me and Emilija were building a long black connector (the chain), while Nathan Davide and Eric attached the parts that were already made, to the entire compound machine; Ghazaleh and Ben made another part that we were missing.

At about 9:45 Vale''s and Davide's mom, and also David's mom came to see our compound machine which (at that time) was almost built. And then, I would say - SUDDENLY, 2nd, 3d, 4th graders came to see how our compound machine was working. While the elementary school looked at the work we did for this month, the room became crowded, loud and somehow reminded me of the Science Day. Still, everything went well, children were polite, and some of them, even wanted to help us build the machine.

But unfortunately, when at the end of the class Ms.D and The Evil Elves and The Cookie Monsters tested their two enormous compound machines, The Cookie Monster's machine worked perfectly, so of course they they got 4/4, unlike us, who got 3/4 .... :(

At the end of the class me and Ghazaleh, Emilija cleaned up, and our teammates helped us. If people want to know how we built simple machines, I would recommend them to see the older posts by other people: Ghazaleh, Emilija, Courtney, Chiara, Karin, David etc.

Like I mentioned before, we did a compound K'nex machine and here is a link about simple machines: http://www.mikids.com/Smachins.htm

And here is a link to K'nex website: http://www.knex.com/About_KNEX/

If people want to check what's for homework, or for some reason they need moodle, here is a link: http://zagreb.ceesa.net/course/view.php?id=188

REAL LIFE EXAMPLE OF SIMPLE MACHINES IN A CAR: wheels- wheel axle; gear shift- lever; pedal- inclined plane; seat belt- pulley.

                                                                    THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Hi Tamara! Bravo! You have colors, links, exciting-enough voice, real life examples, etc. You should still include some more pictures or put them in other parts of the post, and - you are going to get a lot of comments about this - they are not captioned!!!!!!!! You also don't have the date in your title. I think that you could have included more information about the big machine, what the parents and kids liked most and what part of the compound machine was represented by what simple machine. Your labels are correct, though, and you definitely put effort into this! :)

  2. Tamara - Nice work on this blog post and I am glad that you worked through the first one disappearing. This post does cover what we did during class in general and I love the comment about it being like "Science Day" - I agree. But you have not really gone into scientific depth about simple or compound machines and why we were doing this project. Also, you need more scientific vocabulary. I really like your real-life example (simple machines combining to make the compound machine of a car), but again I think you could have explained things further scientifically. Good use of links & pictures, although one link does not work and the pictures are not captioned. I like the separation of your paragraphs with color and your spelling & grammar look good overall. Nice work in a stressful situation! ~Ms. D.

  3. Hi Tamara,
your post was a good length and you had nice text color and it was not difficult to read. You had nice pictures to explain further what you were doing but I did not see any captions. Also, you had enough links but they were not hyper linked. One thing you did wrong is that you made this scribe post like a story or narrative of what happened that day and there was not really any science included in your post. The last thing you did wrong is that you didn't say who the next scribe is.

  4. Hey Tamara,

Your post is very nice. It wasn't long and it wasn't short. I love the colors they were readable you also used readable font. You used nice pictures but they got squished :( The information was good and you had everything we did but you forgot to put who was the next scribe. You used nice links but they weren't hyper linked.
    Over all good job :D
